| I am simply too fucked up over this to write anything of merit right now. I loved Andy, I grew up looking up to him and considered him and a select few others my wise elders for better or for worse. Andy was someone I was proud to be friends with and to be associated with. | London, 30 July 2009 - Thin markets and jitters surrounding Chinese bank lending and CFTC imposed trading restrictions in commodities saw equities and commodities fall further yesterday as risk appetite waned. In contrast the US Dollar was upbeat with the DXY gaining 0.6% and EUR/USD down 0.9%. Despite positive data from the Fed Beige Book the Dow finished down 0.3% and S&P500 off 0.45% after William Dudley, President of the NY FRB played down the prospect of swift economic recovery. The |

| Popping my head up just a moment to point you in the direction of Little Willow's latest post at Guys Lit Wire wherein she celebrates Oscar Wilde, the play Gross Indecency and mentions her own acting career. A favorite bit: I've played boys (or roles that are typically given boys) before. When I was a kid, I was Tiny Tim in Scrooge, a musical based on A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. | The “rickey” drink is named after Colonel Joe Rickey of Missouri (who died in New York City in 1903). The drink was first mixed by George Williamson at Shoomaker’s in Washington, D.C.; some give the date as 1883, but recorded citations begin from July 1890. According to Joe Rickey’s account (see the July 7, 1900 citation below), Rickey mixed bourbon with carbonated water and lemon juice. Someone else at Shoomaker’s replaced lemon juice with lime juice and created the “lime rickey.” Ricke |

| CBS: PITTSFORD, N.Y. — Here’s an idea: Instead of talking about what a marvelous defensive coordinator Jim Johnson was, let’s ratchet the conversation up another level and start talking about how assistants like Jim Johnson and Dick LeBeau deserve something they can’t get from the NFL — at least not now.Let’s talk about them making the Hall of Fame.Related Posts:Eagles’ Johnson leaves an impressive legacyKnott: Rose’s Hall ban deserves a trial — Tom KnottEagles’ Jim Johnson dies from cancerRoyal |

| SI:PITTSFORD, N.Y. — “It’s hard to admit I’m not 25 anymore,” Brett Favre said late Tuesday night, when what he’d done began to sink in. He still sounded stunned that a few hours earlier he’d called Minnesota coach Brad Childress and shunned his dream job: quarterback on a team with a great defense and the best running back in football, with coaches who run a scheme he could operate falling out of bed. “I passed up the greatest chance I could have had right now, and it hurts,” Favre said. “By sa |
